Many of us get caught up with everyday's conundrum that we barely have time to stop and smell the roses (figuratively speaking), what more to say look at the big picture? Everyday we wake up and take a look at the face infront of the mirror without barely seeing what is really there. Mirrors are used to check whether our hair is out of place, whether last night strain have push a zit to the surface, or our black eye circles is still THAT visible~!! How often did we stood infront of the mirror and stare and stare critically at ourselves? Judging ourselves in so many different ways: the height, no... the nose argh~! things we could not change without huge amount of money and risk.
Whence was the last time someone look inside and thinks 'hey, i am not so bad after all'? when was the last time someone realise there is more than meets the eyes? When would someone enjoy being themselves?
The society does always split us up: the nerds at the corner, the average at the left, the jocky at the right and the good looking in the middle as the world revolves around them. And most often than not, we have to choose which one will categorized us. Are you the cool group? Are you the nerd group? No one takes a minute to think, we are human, we are not something anyone... not even scientists can categorized~! We can do almost anything and be whoever we want and we choose to let one thing bound us?
it was so frustrating to be in a place where every focus, effort, time, energy is spent on something i now see so fickle. And at the end of the day, can you honestly say you have lived your life? practically sprawled infront of the laptop? I guess i have one person in my mind when i write this. I was so scared cause i was honestly pulled into that circle... workaholic... i was so focus in one thing that i forgot there is soo much more than just work. if i am not working, i don't feel productive or happy. There is more to me than my work in this field, i am a jack of all trade, and like my bf say, a master in none. But who says you need to be a professional in order to enjoy what you are doing?
i hope you find yourself cause i dont for one second believe anyone was born into chemical engineering. Realise it before it is too late.
